Banbury Chestnuts hosted our second game of the season, against the Bucks VP's.

Once again the green bowled well, especially for the early part of the season and the after match meal was as good as usual.

The 133-83 win was mainly due to 20 shot wins for Allan Hunt, Bob Foster, John McGeough and Chris Cox at 33-13 and Ian Hale, Bill Pointer, Ron Havard and Alan Rowe, 32-12. Rowe's four were given the highest winning rink on account of winning 14 ends against Chairman Cox's 12 winning ends.

County President Mick Morris at the back of Steve Tolhurst, Gerald Fountain and John Timms, 17 shots in front at 11 ends, lost the second half by shots but closed comfortable on 28-16

John Stephens, John Duncan, Nigel Satchell and Brian Ray picked up a single on the last end of a very tight game, to record a 20-19 win.

John Dunne, Dennis Roberts, Bill Jarvie and Ian Whelpton were outbowled in the first half of the game, finishing the eleventh end at 5-17. A four on the fourteenth end kicked them into gear and a strong finish left them only 3 shots adrift at the end, 20-23.

Banbury Borough host the VP's game on June 2nd  when Leicester City & District Parks BA are the visitors.
