it was a much closer game next door on rink two with John Stephens, Bob Foster, Roger Oliver and Alan Wase being behing until the eleventh end, when they drew level at 10 all. Three ends later they took a 3 shot lead with a four and held on to win 18-16.

Allan Hunt, Gerald Fountain, Bernie May and Chairman Chris Cox only lost on five ends on their way to their 36-8 win in their chase for top rink against their all Banbury neighbours on rink four, Sandra  Wase (standing in for a late drop out), Ron Havard, John McGeough and Ian Whelpton who lost one end more but were recorded a 30 shot win, 38-8.
