Last Sunday's game at Oxford City & County IBC against Northamptonshire VP's proved to be another successful outing with all five rinks coming up trumps.

Doug Woodward, Tony Backer-Holst, John McGeough and Mike Petersen led the way with a very comfortable twenty shot win 29-9, winning 16 of the 21 ends played.

Allan Hunt, Bob Foster, Bernie May and Chris Weller were in contention for the top rink, leading the field by seven shots after thirteen ends, but they could not match Petersen's rink who won the remaining eight ends on their rink to Weller's five.

Chairman Chris Cox, playing the last game under his chairmanship, with the support of Ian Hale, Albert Fulkes and Ron Havard turned their game on its head coming back from 4-10 down after eight ends to win twelve of the remaining thirteen ends to record a 18-11 win.

John Dunne, Gerald Fountain, Nigel Satchell and Alex Fleming won their tight game taking four of the last five ends after being level on the eighth, fourteenth and sixteenth ends, closing on 18-13.

Steve Tolhurst, John Stephens, Alan Rowe and skip MIke Andrew picked up a five and two fours and strategic parts of their game. The five brought them to within one shot 9-10 at the eighth, and then the first of their fours levelled the scores at 17 each after sixteen. Their second four came on the 20th end to put them two up with one to play, and a single on the last gave them a three shot win on 24-21.

The AGM on January 6th at the Kidlington bowls club will see Chris Cox, who has led the Association to 11 wins out of 12, hand over the chairmanship to Allan Hunt who will have until April 5th, 2020 to plan his tactics for the remaining indoor game, away to Bucks VP's at Foxhill IBC.

Best wishes to all members of the association and their families for a very Happy Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year.

Don't forget to come to the AGM, we will have had sixteen days of the days getting longer so it won't be too dark.
